Lewis Hixson
Lewis started with
Preferred Insurance Solutions in 2000 after a 23
year career at Allstate insurance. While at
Allstate Lewis held management positions in both
Virginia and Maryland.
He came to the area
from Houston, Texas to attend Washington and Lee
University in Lexington, VA.
Lewis and his wife
Peggy have two children and make their home in
Fairfax, VA.

Gary Phelps
Gary began his
insurance career in 1984 where he served as a
manager for a national insurance company for 16
years. In 2000 he joined with partner Lewis J.
Hixson to form Preferred Insurance Solutions.
Gary is a graduate
of the University of Virginia and enjoys being
outside participating in the community football
program. He is passionate about teaching and
developing children so that they reach their goals
socially, academically and athletically.
Gary has been
married to his wife Kathy for 25 years and they
live in Laytonsville with their two children
Chrissy and Brandon.

Steve Feldman
Passionate about helping families,
Steve assists them with their life, health,
disability and long term care insurance needs. To
address the needs of the growing senior market,
Steve attained the Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC)
and Long Term Care Professional (LTCP)
designations in 2002. Steve also works with over
80 small businesses, providing them with group
health and dental benefits.
A 1985 graduate of the
University of Delaware, Steve obtained his B.S. in
Economics. After seven years in sales and
management with Rollins Protective Services, Steve
began his insurance career in 1993 and joined
Preferred Insurance Solutions in September 2007.
Steve and his wife, Denise, have two children and
live in North Potomac, MD. When not in the office,
Steve enjoys spending time with his family,
playing a round of golf, a few hands of Texas hold
'em, or rooting for any of Washington's sports
teams. |

Steve Douglass
Steve joined Preferred
Insurance Solutions in 2009 after an extensive
career in the automotive industry. Steve was
Regional Vice President for CarMax Auto
Superstores. Steve brings a "customer’s
perspective" to the insurance industry after
having many direct experiences with business and
personal insurance.
Steve is a native
of Virginia and a graduate of Old Dominion
University.
Steve and his wife,
Tammy, have four children and they live in
Leesburg, VA. He enjoys spending time with his
family, playing golf, and assisting with
charitable/non-profit organizations in Loudoun
County. |

Kim Payne
Kim has been a
licensed insurance agent in Property & Casualty
for 10 years. She joined Preferred Insurance
Solutions in 2000. She enjoys the challenge of
helping customers find the right coverage for
their particular needs and with years of
experience in sales and customer service, Kim can
assist you with all your insurance needs.
Kim and her husband
Mark have one child and live in Myersville.

Katie Gifford
Katie joined Preferred Insurance Solutions in
October 2007 after two years in the mortgage
business .
As Steve Feldman's administrative assistant,
Katie provides prompt and courteous customer
service to families, business owners and their
employees.
Outside of the office Katie is an avid reader
and fitness enthusiast. She can often be found
jogging with her dog, Siya.

Yuri Calvo
Yuri joined the Preferred Insurance Solutions
Agency in 2007. She has been licensed in Property
and Causality for five years. Yuri is bilingual,
speaking both Spanish and English.
She enjoys all aspects of her job, especially
customer service and satisfaction.

Katie Ramos
Katie came to the Preferred Insurance Solutions
agency in 2009 after working with Allstate for
five years.
Prior to becoming an insurance agent her
background was in sales. With years of experience
in sales, customer service and her knowledge in
both Spanish and English, she can help you with
